Best-dish Pansat 2700a Instructions:
Files Needed:

A) Setting up the Pansat 2700.zip

1) Plug one end of the RS-232C cable (included with your receiver) into the back of IRD, and the other end in to your computer COM 1 serial port.

2) Turn the receiver on.

3) Unzip and open STB Updater 1.3. go to http://www.best-dish.com and download the latest pansat 2700a bin BIN available. Select Browse and open the latest BIN you just downloaded and then select "Fix!"

4) Hook up the Pansat receiver to the LNB and turn it on and then go to the main Menu and select "Set Up." Select "English" as the language and exit the menu. Make sure you are plugging in the satellite cable into the IF INPUT on the back of the receiver.

5) Select "Antenna Setup," and choose the satellite you want to view, Echo 8.6 or Echo 7. Echo 7 is the main Dish Network satellite and has the most movie channels but doesnt have as many PPV's as Echo 8.6 Both satellites have a lot of channels. Make sure that the LNB Frequency is set to 11250, if it isnt then you will have to change it.

6) At the bottom right corner of the screen you will notice 2 bars, one for level and one for quality. The one you want to focus on is the quality bar, the level bar is not important. Goto this site to get the right look angle for aiming your dish. If you want Echo 7, select Dish Network main satellite, if you want Echo 8.6 (more PPV's) select Dish Network secondary satellite. Both are very close to each other.

7) Select your location or the nearest city to you and hit Calculate Look Angle. You will notice it gives you 2 numbers now, Azimuth and elevation. Now use a compass and aim it at the direction of the Azimuth reading you got. And on your dish you will see a elevation scale on the side where you can adjust the dish up and down. Set that to the same as the elevation reading you got. Now that you know the general direction of the signal your reading to fine tune it. Have someone watching the TV and another person adjusting the dish and try to get the quality bar as high as you can.

8) Next go back into Installation menu and select "Satellite Scan" and hit OK. Then select the satellite you want to scan and hit OK again and a new screen should appear scanning for channels.

9) Once the channel scan is complete click the exit button and watch TV.

For getting both satellites, you will need 2 dishes and you will have to run each cable from the lnb into the Diseqc switch (which is included with all receivers sold). You can plug in upto 4 satellites with these switches and link it to 1 receiver. If you need more help with setting up your receiver for more then 1 satellite please ask in the forum and we can get into more details.

For additional instructions please goto the forum and read or ask if you cannot find an answer.
